Over 70 delegates attended the LSE conference at Trafford Hall today, in Chester. Set in 14 acres of beautiful woods and meadows, the conference was held and kicked off by the well – respected and well-known Chair of the LSE – the Sustainable Development Commission, Mrs. Anne Powers.
The workshop explored how the UK’s housing stock could reduce carbon emissions to make us a more eco-friendly EU country.
They also explained how building new homes is carbon intensive and carries many environmental impacts.
Chief Executive of AHDC Ian Robinson gave a presentation on the green aspects of the Rockfield project. This was followed by a coach trip from Chester to Anfield to show the site and houses provided by AHDC.
The delegates learnt how AHDC had fully insulated the houses top to bottom to save heat as well as the triple glazed windows that have been installed in every home.
