As with all visitors to our regeneration site, the rebuilding of a community as well as the built environment itself continues to amaze professionals as to how this new model for regeneration creates such luxury homes at an affordable price, without public funding.
AHDC recognise that the Housing Corporation have supported this Project from the very start along with all their other partners, which is allowing other Social Landlords and Local Authorities to replicate the scheme in all types of properties from high rise flats to traditional council estates and Victorian housing. The prevention of market dysfunction by investing and modernising in abandoned and boarded up property is AHDC next target area. Watch this space for news!
AHDC 's next visitors will be the Housing delegates from the NUREC exhibition on the 28th and 29th July. Our photo Gallery on this web site shows just how derelict these properties were before investment. Almost 'on-cue' the finishing touches are being applied to the last few houses in Tancred Road and the community is returning to these large family properties. Phase 2 starts in just a few weeks time, breathing new life and confidence into an area once thought only fit for demolition. The demolition and new build specialists have withered in the credit crunch, shut up shop and disappeared until their profits are once again guaranteed by Public cash. AHDC marches on at this site and actively seeks new sites elsewhere.
